New Woodstock Vol. Fire Department, Inc. is responsible for responding to all fire and rescue emergencies in approximately a 30 square mile area. If you live in our Fire District and call 911 to report such an emergency, the Madison County 911 center located in Wampsville, NY will alert us via our personal electronic pagers, text messaging and will also activate the siren located above the firehouse.
Our current Chief is Matt Williams. Our main fire station is located on Mill Street and houses our 4 current in-service trucks, as well as a fully equipped kitchen. In 1985 we built an addition on the side that contains a large meeting room and office. We also own an old single door masonry building accross the street that houses our first motorized pumper, a 1928 Buffalo, that we often enter into area parades.
We are always looking for new people to join us as fire fighters or medical personnel. Contact us and we would be glad to explain the many benefits of being a member of the New Woodstock Vol. Fire Department.
See the web sites at the links below for more benefits for becoming a fire fighter or truck operator and the free schooling available.
